ArcMedium.io does not use cookies. This page explains exactly what we store, why, and what your rights are.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser or device. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, or gather analytics data.
2. Do We Use Cookies?
No. ArcMedium.io does not set any cookies — first-party or third-party — on your device.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or session cookies.
3. What We Do Store (localStorage)
To remember your display preferences and consent choice within a single browser, we use browser localStorage — not cookies. localStorage data never leaves your device unless you explicitly consent to analytics (see section 5).
We store the following values:
— arcm-theme: your chosen colour scheme (dark or light mode).
— arcm-lang: your chosen language (English or Dutch).
— arcm-cookie-consent: your analytics consent choice (accepted or declined).
These values are purely functional or consent-related. They can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service on this website:
— Google Fonts (Inter typeface): loaded via Next.js's built-in font optimisation, which downloads and self-hosts the font files at build time. No requests are made to Google's servers when you visit our site. Your IP address is not shared with Google.
We do not embed social media widgets, YouTube videos, Google Maps, advertising networks, or any other third-party service that could set cookies or track you.
5. Analytics & Tracking
We run a self-hosted analytics system to understand how visitors use the site. This only activates if you click 'Accept analytics' in the consent banner.
When active, we record: the page visited, your country (derived from a Cloudflare header — your IP is never stored), device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop), browser language, colour scheme preference, and the referring URL if one exists.
No personal data is stored. No third-party analytics platform is used. All data lives on our own database (Neon Postgres, hosted in EU West).
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your explicit consent.
6. Contact
Our contact section provides a direct email address and phone number. No contact form is present on this website. If you choose to email us, we receive and store your email address solely to reply to your enquiry — in line with our Privacy Policy.
7. Your Rights
You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data (Settings → Privacy → Clear site data). This removes the arcm-cookie-consent key and analytics will stop on your next visit.
